What was your longest stall?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I need a little encouragement.....I have not lost a single pound in the last month and I'm getting very discouraged. I'm 11 months post op. Hw: 324. SW:295 CW:205. I was so hoping to be under 200 by my one yr surgiversary which is Feb. 17th. Im so afraid that I'm done losing! My losses haven't been huge by no means but I have been losing at least 5 lbs a month. This has been my longest stall since surgery ...almost 5 weeks [emoji853][emoji107]????

Your body adapts. especially after such a deficit for so long. We have to change it up.

1) Increase or change up type of exercise

2) Adjust carbs/calories so the body responds. Not always lower, but cycle a little up and down does help.

3) After making changes, give it a couple weeks to see if changes helped.

The scale should not be the only measure of progress, but body measurements and body levels fat is.

Remember staying at the same weight is not a failure. Gaining fat is.

I recently just broke a 1 month stall (Based on the scale) but did lose some inches and at least that helped break the mental crap the scale alone can cause.

You lost 90 lbs! ???????????????????? That is amazing! Congratulate yourself! You still have a month to go. I suggest checking your carb intake and if that is good try increasing your exercise and Water intake. But 90 lbs is still no small feat!????????????????

I agree with everyone else. 90 pounds is such a wonderful accomplishment! That honeymoon weight loss portion is over and now the real work begins. Exercise, increase your Water, start building muscle and don't rely on the scale! Get measurements of your body and keep track that way. The scale is evil and it doesn't tell you your Water weight and that type of stuff

Keep up the good work!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
