Bella1017 2 Posted January 14, 2017 It's only day 4 and I'm starving ! Surgery date is 1/26/17 but I'm Starting to wonder if it's even worth it! These shakes just aren't cutting it. I really want to eat a salad or a nice low calorie dinner. Whyyyyy all liquid! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Elle09 157 Posted January 15, 2017 The pre op diet is worth it. Remember this is to prepare you for surgery. Your surgery date is very near; and as challenging as the pre op is hang in there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
fatontheinside 92 Posted January 15, 2017 The pre-op diet is just the beginning my friend. I remember when I was a week out after surgery and I went to the gas station to pump gas. You know how they have those advertisements of the nasty gas station food inside? Oh my lord, I would have given my right leg for a gas station cheese burger. i wouldnt normally want something like that but my brain wanted food SO bad! i wanted to CHEW something!!! I promise you, it will get better and much easier! I couldn't have physically eaten that burger anyway...but i will never forget how bad I wanted it! lol good luck!!! www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com
LisaMarieVSG 4 Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) I'm so thankful my surgeon only requires a two week pre-op diet of sugar free, low carb/high Protein foods. This diet will also shrink your liver. However he is strict with his post-op diet, as we are required to stay on clear liquid for 10 days then advance to full liquids for 10 days & after that its 10 days of puréed food. I know others sleeved patient who are cleared to start eating soft foods just one week post-op. The diets really seems to very with each surgeon.
