DiamondDior 9 Posted January 14, 2017 Good Afternoon Everyone! I pray this message finds you blessed. My question is how long after surgery did you have to wear your binder? This thing is annoying... Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
hollidaye 21 Posted January 16, 2017 Wear it as long as possible it will help give you a shape and help you not have as much loose skin. I wear very tight Spanx to this day and I had my surgery in 2007 and have lost 237 lbs. I weigh 134 now. DiamondDior 9 Posted January 16, 2017 Thanks because no one explained that Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
DisneyMom2El 120 Posted January 16, 2017 My doctor said it's not necessary since I didn't have open surgery, so never. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
RJC5197 282 Posted January 16, 2017 For Michiganders---It may be different? Just kidding.. My Dr did not require one as well with non-open surgery. My original VBG of 20 years ago did require one and I used it for 3 weeks, to allow for healing of skin and muscles that were cut.

hollidaye 21 Posted March 18, 2017 I didn't have an open surgery but I still wore one and continue to wear a tight Spanx. I go to support groups and before surgery someone gave me that advice and I stuck with it. Until or if I do have the skin removed it helps me hold a nice hour glass figure.
