Frustrated...Excercise Smexercise

Recommended Posts

I really appreciate everyone's advice on this. I have told myself that, hate the treadmill or not, I am going to get on it first thing in the morning...no excuses. I have set a goal of 30 minutes, but won't beat myself up if I don't last that long. Something I may not have mentioned in my first post is that my hips hurt really bad when I walk a ways. It's getting a little better, but they still hurt. I also have a knee that wants to give me the blues since I have lost some weight and become more active. So I'll just take it easy at first...but I'm gonna make myself do it!!!

I like the atmosphere at the Y. I wish it wasn't so high...and $50 is a special rate for educators!!! I'll be checking around to see if there is a gym anywhere close that is less.

:car:

the gym is disgusting. everyone there has ipods, be-bopping to their favorite music, while they ride different machines, chatting with their neighbors, lusting for innocent health freaks as they walk back and forth. sweating. news and sports shows on the monitors. more sweaty, sex-starved people walking past you. it's absolutely horrible.

do not go to the gym, and certainly do not make a habit of it :)

:)

Bad monkey, no banana. haha.

<p>i am a very self-concious person and i somehow push my lazy butt out the door and to the gym (when i do have time) and worrk out on the treadmill (my fave) and sometimes the bike or strenght training.. Music helps it alll... afterwards i reward myself by hping in thier pool and hot tub ..... ahhhhh so relaxing

The longer I've been banded, the more I believe wholeheartedly that exercise is the KEY to good results. Without it you just wont lose 100% of your excess weight. Nuff said.

This is so true..in fact I don't know anyone that has reached their goals that did not include exercise. Besides you look so much better too. :rose:

if nothing else Lunge (exercise - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

do it at home. do what you can. work up. add weights if you want. works everything in the body than an elliptical trainer or stair stepper or tredmill does, at 100% less the cost. :-)

i like the gym because the machines are the lazy man's way. how do you think i got this fat!? :-)

God Bless Us.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
