My dr put me on that and Prilosec for stomach ulcers.....she wants them resolved before she'll schedule my sleeve surgery. I'm taking Carafate 4x/day and Prilosec 2x/day.....Hopefully, the combination will heal the ulcers and I can get a date!

Yes it's part of my post op regimen. 4xs a day for 2-4 weeks and then as needed after. I HATE IT!

It has a lot of warnings about not mixing it with other meds. How have yall done with that? Im not sure how to work it in.

I LOVE carafate. I took it pre op as well for stomach acid issues. It literally changed my life. Mine says 4 xs a day before meals and a bedtime.

I now just take as needed. Just don't take when you take your other meds. Give it an hour or so.

I took it post op to clear up esophagus ulcers and now post op for ulcer on esophagus and stomach. It works well but is very binding.
