curlyinthecity 35 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) I started my pre-op diet (see attached) on Tuesday and I've been been sick throughout (migraine, nausea, vomiting.) I suspect it's something in the Protein shakes I am drinking (Premier). I've tried many powder Proteins, generally more concentrated, and had an aversion, so my nutritionist suggest the Premier shakes to me. I tried it prior to starting the diet without an issue, however now I'm consuming it multiple times a day. Currently waiting for a nutritionist to get back to me. Can anyone suggest some other brands to me, free of whey and high in Protein? Maybe vegan or soy based? Thank you! JamieLogical 8,710 Posted January 13, 2017 I did the EAS AdvantEDGE ready-to-drink shakes from Target & Walmart. They have milk, but no whey.< /p>
Queen_Bee 37 Posted January 14, 2017 I use the Jay Robb egg white Protein, and Jay Robb Whey Protein isolate. You can find it at GNC. It's 25g of protein per shake. Additionally, you should investigate the sweeteners used in the shakes. I found out I am highly intolerant of sucralose, which almost everything that you buy flavored, is sweetened with. I found out I can actually do whey protein *isolate*, as long as there is no sucralose. Premier shakes are full of sucralose. Good luck! janedoe92 260 Posted January 14, 2017 The symptoms could be a result of you body withdrawing from sugar and carbs. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App Exactly what I was going to say. It may not be the shakes but you detoxing. I was required by insurance to do a 6 month weight loss with a nutritionist, and my NUT had me cut carbs and sugar. Became very agitated, and so sick, but you'll eventually get over that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
atrudel 1 Posted January 15, 2017 I had the same thing happen. Lack of carbs, sugar and caffeine had me in bed for 2 days. I thought I was dieing. It will pass and things will get easier. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
