gustavio 439 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) You are not failing. Your body has just gone through a traumatizing event. Give it time to regulate itself. Some people lose a whole bunch of weight at first and then slack off. Some people lose next to none the first month or so and once their body adjusts, the pounds start to fall off. If you are following your plan, there is no chance this surgery will fail. If you are not following doctors orders and cheating, it could fail. Your results depend on you. Look at it this way, you lost 19 lbs in 6 weeks. Could you do that before surgery? If the answer is no, then the surgery is working. Hang in there. We have all felt like this a time or two during our journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited January 13, 2017 by gustavio
JamieLogical 8,719 Posted January 13, 2017 Welcome to the "Dreaded Week 3 Stall". I would estimate at least 95% of WLS patients experience a stall right around three weeks post op. If you do a search on these forums, you will see HUNDREDS of posts complaining about the same thing. You are not doing anything wrong. Get your Water in. Get your Protein in. Take your Vitamins. Walk several times a day. The weight will start coming off again when it's good and ready. In the mean time, your body is just adjusting and adapting to the major shock it's been through with the surgery, healing, and drastically reduced calorie intake.
