Lise2021 15 Posted January 13, 2017 Seriously you could try a brown cow which is milk of magnesia mixed with warm prune juice and butter. Or you might need lactose. But you will curse the day you take that.youll get a cherry red baboon butt from all the wiping, but bright side no more Constipation.< /p>Yeah, but they're trying to get me off the meds. I'll try the juice. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

BigViffer 3,544 Posted January 13, 2017 Yeah, but they're trying to get me off the meds. I'll try the juice.< /p> If you are on pain meds, I'd bet a dime to dollar that is what is causing your Constipation. Oxycotin and Hydrocodone are like cement mixers to my bowels. Brandeis 401 Posted January 13, 2017 Don't forget the simplest helper for BMs as well: WALK AROUND! walking around apparently aids mightily in digestion, and should do a lot to help with your Constipation.< /p>
clc9 644 Posted January 13, 2017 Be careful with straining too much like you describe too. Combined with obesity, it can give you a rectal prolapse or rectocele if you're female. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Malin 470 Posted January 13, 2017 One of my good friends who had a sleeve done a couple of years ago brought me a present the first day I was home from the hospital after having my sleeve done--Fiber that dissolves in everything. And I DO use it in nearly everything. Make it your new BFF.

JamieLogical 8,713 Posted January 13, 2017 Are you on a pro-biotic? I take a pro-biotic every day and eat Protein Bars with pre-biotic Fiber in them and that seems to keep me pretty regular. Obviously things were out of whack the first few weeks post-op before I was back on solid foods. But since then, I haven't had issues.
Lise2021 15 Posted January 13, 2017 I think this is just gonna have to be a trial and error of natural things that I can use. I'm not necessarily worried or freakin out at this point since I'm still new, but it is what it is. I just have to give my body a chance to get used to this new lifestyle. I think because I'm young my team is expecting a relatively quick bounce back, which it will eventually and on top of that I just started on puree so... I'm not even at the "meal" stage. Julie norton 2,850 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) I certainly recall the initial discomfort!!! I laughed when my husband discontinued binding medication. He recalled it as " passing a tennis ball". [emoji462][emoji462]I have heard women on here go so far as to say " passing a pineapple"[emoji531][emoji531] However you put it. It seems to get better and there are many suggestions posted on the boards. Unfortunately... my latest complication is hemorrhoids. Sigh. It is all better than 100 lbs!!! Good luck. Hoping it gets better and smoother soon! Edited January 13, 2017 by Julie norton

RussT 495 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App I feel your pain. I had a day like that within my first 4-6 weeks post-op where I sat there for 45 minutes on the bowl and nothing. I had to use a Fleet enema and even THAT took 1/2 an hour to kick in and I still felt like I was giving birth!I suggest you get some Metamucil and be sure to drink plenty of Water. I also use the Metamucil fiber Cookies. They are 2 cookies per pouch and they work too. Edited January 14, 2017 by RussT
