roadtofit 24 Posted January 11, 2017 Hey all! So I'm currently 6 days post op, and feeling better today than I have yet! The only thing is, I have had dreams for FIVE nights in a row about me cheating on this absolutely brutal awful 2 week clear liquid diet that my surgeon has me on. I have been following my surgeons instructions to the letter thus far, but am starting to freak out that I may be in for more than I can handle. I'm going to be going back to college in a week and have not told anyone at school about the surgery. Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences? MrsPenguin 103 Posted January 12, 2017 I would say come up with a plan to maintain your post op eating white at school NOW...before you get there. Set yourself up for success by making sure you have everything you need. The dreams are only dreams and the tough parts will pass. Stay the course! You've come this far. You can do it! It can be overwhelming to think about what you will do and who you will tell about the surgery. Your medical stuff is private; you don't have to tell anyone if you don't feel like it. In my experience, most people don't really get it, and I don't have the patience to explain all of it. If anyone asks (and most of the time they don't), you can just say you have a medical issue...and you'd rather not talk about it. Best of luck to you. You got this! MrsPenguin 103 Posted January 12, 2017 ps. I found chicken broth heated up with a couple small bits of fresh ginger was really yummy. ..just don't eat the ginger
LipstickLady 25,682 Posted January 12, 2017 You **CAN** handle it. It sucks, but it's worth it. Stop doubting yourself and just do what you need to do to be successful. The liquid diet does not last forever, it just feels like it does.To be crude, suck it up, buttercup. You are TOTALLY worth it.
cat17 57 Posted January 12, 2017 The liquid diet is the worst!! But I agree with the above replies....you can do this! I hated the liquid diet too, but now it's just a memory...
