roadtofit 24 Posted January 11, 2017 this is my first time posting so please bare with me! I'm currently 6 days post op and While I've been feeling a lot better energy and pain wise every day, I feel like I'm having a more and more difficult time food wise with each day. My surgeon has me on a two week clear liquid diet, and the food cravings have gotten very very difficult to fight. Is there anyone else who has felt this and has any advice please? I'm home from college for another 2 weeks and don't know how I'm going to get through it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
suzzzzz 1,005 Posted January 11, 2017 Are you having clear Protein Drinks? Head hunger and cravings can many times be helped by taking a ppi to reduce stomach. If you are not on one, call and ask for one. Sometimes folks have to try different ones to find the one that works.
NWJill 119 Posted January 11, 2017 Hang in there, I am 10 days post and luckily only had to do clear for 3 days, I am on full liquids which is hard too. I think it is hard when you are at home because there is less to distract you. I wish I was at work because then I would have more distractions. When I was on clear my sister got me some awesome broth from a Thai place she goes to, maybe try to find or make some really flavorful broth, that might help. Try to keep busy and drink as much Fluid as you can to keep full and yes try some clear Protein drinks if you are allowed that may help. NurseBec 14 Posted January 11, 2017 Oh yeah that's the rough part. Honestly I watched food porn. Food network, tasty and buzz feed cooking tutorials. I even got some bomb recipes that I could make vsg friendly. The mental stimulation was enough for me. I am aware it may make others go insane but for me it was all I had!!! Give it a shot ???? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App Just search for "protein water" on Amazon, tons of different brands on there. I've also bought them at Super Target. therealrox 7 Posted January 11, 2017 The liquid diet is rough for the first 5 days, the last 5 get easier. I found miso broth and added powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein powder to it and it was tasty! Another thing I did was get fat free low sodium chicken middle Soup and strain out all of the noodles, then add Unjury. it made a great tasting "dinner." Keep it up, its worth it. heidikat72 935 Posted January 11, 2017 when the head hunger came on with a vengeance about a week post op for me - i found activities to do. for me what worked was doing something with my hands. So I had a lot of adult coloring books and taught myself to knit during that time. I needed something active to reset my brain.

RNMomof4 86 Posted January 11, 2017 I had to do two weeks of clears as well and the thing that got me through was homemade chicken broth in the slow cooker. Look up the recipe on Allrecipes.com. It is so easy and delicious and makes you feel like you are actually having real food. Sent from my iPhone
Wonder WomanNJ 119 Posted January 11, 2017 I found that first phase to be SUPER easy at first then towards the end, Super Difficult. I promise you, as soon as your able to use a blender, the shakes get better! I promise. Hang in there - this phase doesn't last forever. I am phase 2 and at this point, I find the cravings are worse. Imagine living in a house full of guys who are foodies!? Kill me now! I swear I want to stab them with a fork when they are eating something yummy! I don't sit and watch anymore, I eat before they get home and then I go into the next room while they eat. I know this is going to be rough for you too, especially if you're going back to campus. Be strong and remember why you did it. You can do this! xoxo
Brady12 10 Posted January 20, 2017 Anyone feel like they are losing too much weight? Not being a dick here either. I am almost to 125 and I'm just losing and losing because I watch everything I eat.???????????? Maybe I'm just scared because it's all new, but I want to SELF sabatoge because I feel like I don't deserve it.???????? I wanna gain weight because ppl keep commenting (yet they are still smaller than me?) and it's irritating. Not sure if I am tripping if thin people are just that mean?
