Bariatric Advantage vanilla has been the most tolerable taste for me to deal with, also I sometimes mix in a little PB2 to change up the flavor. I also put the Bariatric Advantage in my Jello today too and it was really good, and alot less expensive than the Protein Jello.< /p>

I am only referencing bariatric specific shakes and their taste. It's been my previous experience that when a shake tastes really really good it's probably got something hidden that I'm not supposed to have.

the B12 is good but its not enough Protein should be 20 + per serving and if it has fruit chucks no it not a good shake to start with.

I purchased mine from Bariatric Eating they are inspire they have no funky taste texture or grit. It is thin not foamy. I ordered plain to add to foods. Dutch chocolate and Butter Mint. Was Leary cause I gag at most these were a blessing. I put it the shaker cup shook it well and drank it up.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but what are some good shake brands? I'll be having surgery in May and want to try some options now. Thanks!

I am having surgery soon and trying different Protein shakes. So far Premium Protein Shakes (chocolate) seem to be my choice. 30g Protein too..seems to be higher than most

Premier Protein are very good & 30 grams of Protein. For powder, Isopure is very good, high protein low and no carb flavors or sugar. Also try PB2, it is Peanut Butter powder, good protein and low carbs good for mixing into chocolate shakes. You can also add 1tsp of sugar free Jello flavors to any powder mixed to make different kinds of flavors.

Have fun with it and enjoy!

I'm using Unjury at the moment. The chocolate is good, and I'm using the unflavored in pudding (but I messed up and somehow my pudding didn't thicken). I really like my Atkins shakes, but they have only 15gm per shake and I know it's not enough.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
