I have over the ear hearing aids that I got from the VA ( many years on the flight line). They are over the ear and into the ear canal type. My question is this, would weight loss make them not fit correctly anymore?

I had to have my ear pieces redone several times but it did not affect the aid itself. little cost they could also adjust the length of my tube that ran from my aid to my ear. hope this helps

Thank you. That helps a lot. I called the VA and left a message at the clinic. Hopefully they call back tomorrow.

Just got a return call from the VA. It seems that I need an adjustment due to the weight loss. I will be going to the walk in appoint tis done. I just hope they don't take my hearing aids and send them out. I have a very hard time hearing (mostly female voices) without them.

They put in large domes. I still seem to be having the same issue. I guess I need to go back to the VA as a walk in.

Well, I have to go back to the VA as a walk in to the audiology clinic. I am still having the same issues. This is getting very frustrating.

just hang in there hopefully they will be able to get it fixed. I think I had to try several earpieces before they found ones that worked some were too big so they hurt and the small ones slipped out. good luck to you

Thanks. I am having to push the larger dome into my ear canal just so I can hear. It is starting to get really uncomfortable. It is also getting frustrating that when I chew it moves around and I can't hear.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
