adida.franklin@yahoo.com 12 Posted January 10, 2017 Hi. I was sleeved 10/12/16. I've stalled going on 5 weeks now. I've been eating a little over a cup of food at a time 4-5 times a day... nothing too crazy and I'm not eating over 1000 calories. But either way I feel like it's too much too soon. Idk what to do. Is anyone else having this problem? Hw:387 Sw:349 Cw:310 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted January 10, 2017 What are you eating that is 5 cups but less than 1000 calories? How many grams of carbs? How many grams of Protein?
adida.franklin@yahoo.com 12 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) This was today.. so maybe a little more than 1000 sometimes... I like pickles. Not many calories. I should probably stop pickles. They just take up space. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App Edited January 10, 2017 by adida.franklin@yahoo.com
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted January 10, 2017 Thats not bad macros. I like the look of that app by the way. I would drop the carbs, grits and whatever else. And up the Protein. Try to hit 1200 calories with more Protein and less than 25 grams of carbs. No grains, no sugar, no starches. Only get carbs from green veggies
erica_ozzy73 241 Posted January 10, 2017 Yeah I'd be aiming for higher fats and no sugar and under 25g of carbs. And Up the Protein. I don't count calories at all. And I stick to 3 small meals a day with 1 snack Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Dub 9,922 Posted January 10, 2017 I was coached by my surgeon during my 6 month followup appointment to transition to 3 meals a day consisting of a cup of food each over the next few months. A cup of food was the meal size he wanted to see me achieve and maintain forever.... At 5 weeks I was on three meals 1/4 cup in size. I say all this simply to provide a comparison. You are early on in your journey. I wish I'd have done better with my progress and am grateful for the early success. I beg you to change your practices now.....follow the guidelines laid out in your own specific plan. It's a slippery slope you are treading on.....doesn't take much to slip from a large volume of pickles to other less desirable eats. Food is simply fuel. That's all it is. Maybe now would be a good time to utilize Protein powders. The early stages......the "honeymoon period" is a time when you can make great strides on losing weight AND changing your relationship with food.
MPwife 0 Posted January 10, 2017 My nutritionist raked me over the coals today about grits. I was also eating mashed potatoes because I don't care for much else and that's a big no, too. I feel like I'm failing miserably at this. Sleeved 12.21.16 SW -
QueenOfTheTamazons 634 Posted January 10, 2017 I can eat an 8oz yogurt and other slider foods in a single sitting but dense Protein like cheese or chicken it's more like 4. My nut said 80-90g Protein (90 when exercising) and 800-1000 Cal's a day. I have had two long stalls where I gain and lose the same 3lbs, then all of a sudden lose 10lbs. I know I've been eating too much junky higher carb foods. Part of that is from feeding other non fat or no diet people. When husband gets the surgery I am going get back on a regimented diet. When husband is on pre and post op liquid diet I am going to do so as well. I think it will help him stay on track and will help "reset" me as well. I used to take 3 parts egg beaters, 1 part fairlife milk and 1 part cheese to make a soft scrambled egg. I also make my own Protein shakes using fairlife chocolate milk and GENEPRO. I blend it in my ninja with ice for a shake. It has a good chocolate flavor and covers up the GENEPRO. I also add a tbs of PB2 for a change. Oikios triple zero is a decent high Protein Greek yogurt if you can handle Greek. HW 385 SW 359 CW 305 Sleeved 10/5/
