Protein goals

Recommended Posts

Hi feeling please as managed 75g Protein today which is a 1st. I am 9 weeks out and in UK we don't have the same emphasis on Protein but after reading up on here I have been trying to get more in. I have been struggling as seem to vomit mucus most days ( non today which is also amazing) as my sleeve doesn't like meat at all. Also carbs seem to sit better with me.

Stats 240 pre surgery

Today 196.8

Good for you! My dr isn't really strict about Protein either.... But I try hard in hopes I won't lose tons of hair ;) hopefully you will be able to handle meat better later on!

Hi msw I am from the uk but currently living in Qatar. My dr seems like not bothered with Protein neither pre op diet. I am 4 days out now and struggling with meat and chicken broth. I can barley finish a cup whole day. I will see my dr next Monday and wondering how I will survive this stage. I need yoghurt or creamy Soups to make me go I was energetic yesterday not today though.

Any advice

Back to old me soon

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
