How long did you guys wait before going out shopping for house hold items or anything? I think I have over did it and now I'm paying for it. My whole body has aches and pains and this is the most pains I have had since surgery. I had surgery 1/4/17.

To answer your question, I don't recall.

There's no reason not to go out if you want, but take it easy. You didn't say how long you were out, how much walking you did and how fast or how heavy your packages were. Slow down and, when you start to feel uncomfortable or tired, head home or sit down to regroup and then go home. Pay attention to how you feel. Also limit the weight you lift or carry. The usual doctor's advice is five lbs (or is it 10?)

You will find you need to rest a lot the next couple of weeks! Listen to your body and rest and before you know it you will wake up one day feeling so good. I did not believe it as I felt so tired all the time and this week I woke up with energy and ready to go....the fog had lifted! I was sleeved on Dec 9th 2016. I ordered all my groceries and household items from Amazon Prime and had them delivered in 2 hours!

I don't trust my body enough to 'listen to it'. My body kept telling me to lift weights and run on the treadmill at 2 weeks out.. i succumbed to the latter and had just a bit of discomfort..

I did it at day 5 and it was a huge mistake. I rapidly got worse and took forever to feel better. I really think I would have been further along if I hadn't. The walks outside, however, were great!

I had RNY on 12/21. Came home 12/22. Went Christmas shopping 12/24. I think it depends on how you are feeling and when you are ready.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
