leslaine 121 Posted January 7, 2017 It gets better. I was sleeved on 12/21, and it took about 4 to 6 days before I started feeling normal again. Hang in there.
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 7, 2017 I had almost no pain at all, but people are all over the board with this. It should start getting a lot better soon, though.
Doshea5 9 Posted January 8, 2017 I got sleeved on 12/12 and that was my most painful surgery, even worse than when I had to have spinal fusion surgery and titanium rods were put in my spine. I was in the hospital a week for that one but the sleeve surgery was way worse. It gets better though hang in there and good luck! ready_to_be_thin 179 Posted January 8, 2017 I definitely agree that everybody is so different in their pain. Doshea5 mentions it was worse than their spinal fusion....I had that surgery too and it was the most pain I have ever been in in my life. However, with my sleeve I had hardly any pain at all. So unfortunately, everybody is truly different...but I can say that it will get better soon. Just hang in there, we are all here for you! sandokat 9 Posted January 9, 2017 Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I actually do feel a bit better today and managed to get my liquid down along with some clear liquid. (Jello and Broth) I am walking and doing my spirometer faithfully. It feels almost like painful gas bubbles now, Also no BM's yet. I am sure that does not help. Here is to successfull, healthy journeys for us all!
danaymacklin 177 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Had bypass on 12/1 and day 1 was fairly painful but each day after was an improvement. About the 6th or 7th day began to be pain free and just my stomach was a bit sore but felt good around then. Minus the gas so be sure to walk it really does help. Take care! sandokat 9 Posted January 14, 2017 Update on my surgery. Sunday night hubby had to bringing me to ER. I was in severe pain all day and throwing. Turns out that scar tissue caused hernias in lower abdominal. My surgeon probed around and found the blockages and fixed them all. He also ran the entire bowel to ensure there was no blockages left. It was open surgery though so I am touchy, but on my way to better things!
