food....Seriously post pictures of your foods!!

Im considering the VSG surgery and really want to know what to expect and would appreciate of some of your recent or long time sleevers would share pictures of your meals and portion sizes so I can get an idea what to expect down the road following surgery.

A big stress factor for me in deciding to do this or now is fearing the unknown after surgery. I want to have a good idea what to expect in the days, weeks and years to follow. If Im going to do something that cant be undone I want to know EXACTLY what Im getting myself into.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

This was Christmas dinner, I was sleeved on 12/8 and had started on purée 14 days out, I had 2 oz of Turkey, 1 oz of green Beans, 1 oz of dressing, 1 oz sweet potatoes, I tolerated an oz of turkey and just tasted the rest. My SW was 221, my current weight today was 199.2!!!! So happy!!!!

My Bariatric team's rules say no baby food. "It's made for babies that need to grow, not adults who need to loose." These words exactly were in my handbook. So no, I never ate it during the puree phase.

It was as much as I could eat,I felt extremely full. I had just started purée so I guess maybe that could be it.

I did because I couldn't tolerate the Celebrate, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, BariLife or Chike! shakes. I finally went back to the Atkins shakes even though they had less Protein because the baby food had too many carbs versus Protein.

Do any of the doctors have an issue with Muscle Milk brand Proteins?

My nutritionist had muscle milk on the list of shakes I was allowed, I did fine with them pre-op, but post-op I can't tolerate them, they are just too sweet for me

Take a look also at YouTubers who had wls....they do a lot of videos showing grocery hauls, what they eat in a typical day, etc. Most of them are pretty responsible by admitting up front it's what works for them, but may not be for everyone. I got a lot of good ideas from that pre and post op.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
