So between pre op diet / surgery / post op diet I've lost about 32lbs& I can't tell.. not even in my face. I can still wear the same pants.. Same shirts. Anybody else? I started out 270& now I'm 238..

Is me not drinking enough Water gonna make a difference in this? I'm trying to force myself to reach my Water goals; Very hard since I was never much of a drinker anyways.. of anything.

The larger your starting size, the longer it takes to see a difference and to drop clothing sizes.

You need to lose 40-50 pounds to go from a size 3x to a 2x. You need to lose 10-15 pounds to go from a size 8 to a 6.

Believe me, once you hit Onderland, it'll become quite noticeable and the sizes will fly by.

Just keep doing what you are supposed to be doing. One day you will look at yourself and say, "Wow, when did that happen!?!"

I am the same way. Even with the Water. But other people are noticing. What you could do, I am not sure if you did this before your surgery is take your measurements. I took mine right around my surgery and then again around my 6 week mark and it showed me I had actually lost a total of 33/34 inches total! It really helps you stay on track and shows you that you really are losing and not just weight

When I retired July 2014 I weighed 360. Tried to loose on my own and was 325 when I started process June 2016. B4 surgery I was 279. Went to get pants taken in and was told they could not reduce them by 9 inches. Bought new jeans and went from size 56 to 48.

I was at 221 today I weigh 199, I was sleeved on 12/8, and I don't see a difference when I look in the mirror, but my clothes say otherwise, I've cleaned out my closet once already, I still wear some clothes I wore before my sleeve, and I feel they fit the same, but my family says otherwise.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
