At what week did you notice you could eat the most and then it stopped - meaning how much can you eat and what week did you notice your stomach fully healed?

Not quite sure what you mean but I don't think it is possible to know your stomach is fully healed since it is aLL on the inside. My surgeon said 6 weeks for healing. As for eating more, I can't remember, however today at 6.5 mths I still have days where I can eat more than others. Don't know why but I just do the best I can to meet my goals.

I guess I'm just wondering when I will know my stomach's "permanent" (I use this loosely) limit. By what week for example

So, I don't know each day how much I will eat. As I said before, some days I can eat more than others. Each day I work on getting Protein in and can do that. My surgeon said that overtime I can expect 3/4 cup food max. As of now 1/2 cup max is it for me. We are all different so it is hard to pinpoint.

I don't think you get your true capacity until about the one year mark.

I could eat more at 3 months, then 6 months, and then at 12 months. My capacity from 12 to 18 hasn't changed.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
