MCM 0 Posted September 21, 2007 When do you know you are at the sweet spot? Is it true that you can only eat of cup of food? Are you never hungry between meals? Are you losing a certain amount of weight regularly? Just how do you know..... I had my second fill on 9/10 and I am definitely not at a sweet spot. I can still eat at least 2 cups of food in one sitting. While I cannot say that I am hungry between meals, I am not full enough or holding my food so that I do not even consider eating. I keep wondering when my true change will come. Don't get me wrong I know that band is a tool and I am trying to control myself with diet and exercise but I want to know when the ultimate help will arrive.:help:
Vikki 2 Posted September 21, 2007 I am hoping to reach my sweet spot tomorrow when I get my third fill. I want to get my fill right in time for the holiday maddness of sweets and more sweets. I am not looking forward to the candy in my house. I have to tell my kids to hide the candy from me instead of me hide it from them!!! I would like to loose at least 10 - 15 pounds by Jan so if I get get my sweet spot now that would be GREAT!!!! I do feel the evening is when I am the most open and that is when I am the hungriest. It will help to feel the STOP feeling when I start trying to snack.< /p>
Wendell Edwards 73 Posted September 21, 2007 I think I am at the "sweet spot" so do I still have to go monthly to get checked/filled? I will go to my next appointment and ask, but I would like to hear what others have to say.thanks, Mags This is an old post of mine about the elusive "Sweet Spot": I talked to Inamed about how many CCs in a Lap-Band made for a "Good fill". Their answer surprised me: "It really doesn't MATTER how many ccs are in the band. The only thing that matters is whether or not that CC amount provides EFFECTIVE RESTRICTION" (Emphasis added) So the trick then is NOT how many CCs are in the Lap-Band, it's whether or not the band works well at that level of fill. One more thing... "The Sweet Spot" is just another way of saying "Effective Restriction". The problem is that people expect "The Sweet Spot" to last. It doesn't. And neither does "Effective Restriction" Not until the entire residual fat-pad on the outside of the stomach muscle is melted off, and that takes TIME.
