sammysue5 21 Posted January 5, 2017 I am 9 days post op. I can drink with no problems and not sips but 1 swallow at a time. (If that makes sence) My doctor told me to start drinking milk and applesauce. A applesauce is 4 oz is it normal to be able to eat the hole thing? Feel like I could actually eat a slice of pizza even though I wont. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App
Kaylamh 144 Posted January 6, 2017 You FEEL like you could eat pizza, but let me tell you you can't hahahaha. My eyes are bigger than my stomach, so I'm the same way. I always think I can eat more than I actually can. Try to spread four ounces over an hour. That's what I was told to do during the liquid phase.

highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted January 6, 2017 A couple things that I love post op. 1. I just bought lunch at a local meat market/restaurant I asked for 2 ribs (they were about 4" long) she looked at me and said are you sure? They are really small. I said yeppers! 2. The rib meal is $7.95 with 3 ribs and a side. When you get just the ribs they sell by the pound. My lunch was $2.24 for delicious ribs. Happy fat man! I can drink with no problem (granted I can't do more than ONE gulp at a time) it's way more than just a sip though with no problems...and my NUT told me that 2 oz should be suffice while on purees but I can finish the 4? I wonder if that's a problem.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using the BariatricPal App
Babbs 14,681 Posted January 6, 2017 Not everyone has a bunch of issues post op. I could drink and eat no problem, no pain. 2.5 years post op and haven't thrown up once. One thing people don't realize is all the nerves have been comprmised and cut when the stomach was cut and stapled back up. That makes feeling wonky for a while, and why some don't get the "full" sensation right away. It's always best to measure out your amounts so you don't inadvertently over eat because your feeling isn't quite there yet.

ella37 455 Posted January 6, 2017 Things will likely change when you move to solids. I could full on swallow liquids too and thought my sleeve was messed up when I was eating puddings and Soups. Once you start moving on to solid foods that full feeling will come MUCH quicker! I also never had issues getting food down, I've tolerated everything and also never thrown up. You might just be a lucky one!
sammysue5 21 Posted January 6, 2017 Thanks I hope so. Only thing I really had issues with was depression the first week and buyers remorse. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using the BariatricPal App
