courtney.rose.a. 49 Posted January 5, 2017 My PCP had referred me to my surgeons office in October after my physical. I have finished all of my qualifications for my surgeons office: bloodwork, echo, ekg, endoscopy, and a psych letter. The last thing I need before my meeting with the surgeon on Monday was a letter of clearance from my pcp which I requested about a week ago. I called today to check in and they informed me that I need a preoperative appointment with them, and i agreed. They then wouldn't schedule me without orders for blood work from my surgeon. But my surgeon has already done all of his extensive blood work!!! So confused on what is actually needed for this letter of clearance!! dodlbug 23 Posted January 6, 2017 How long ago was the bloodwork done? Pre-op physicals need bloodwork because the anesthesiologist needs to now what's in your system to set the knock-out drugs correctly.
