So my doctor warned me that in the beginning of my recovery that I would probably experience more nausea than usual.

I've pretty much been experiencing nausea since I woke up from surgery (I'm 3 weeks post-op now) and I'm vomiting now as well.

I wasn’t able to keep any food or even my Protein shake down today and my food was definitely not digested at all when it came back up hours later.

I'm just wondering what other people's experiences are with this.

I'd call your surgeon. Did surgeon prescribe anti nausea meds?

Yes, I have some anti nausea meds.

They unfortunately weren't very helpful yesterday.

I'm 10 weeks out and still cant hold anything down. Was told that the surgery exacerbated my gastroparesis. They want me to consider a pacemaker. Make sure you stay on top of your doctor. Good luck.

Hi, I also have gatroparesis and scheduled for surgery later this month. Please let me know what surgery you had. I don't need this to get worse. Thanks!

I got the gastric bypass because I was told that I couldn't have the sleeve because of my Gastroparesis.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
