Kmccusker127 11 Posted January 5, 2017 I took off 4weeks. So glad I did because exhaustion is very real. Eating and drinking was hard for me so being home was perfect. I would suggest at least 3wks to let your body start to heal. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
AnaDmom3 66 Posted January 5, 2017 Sleeved 12/16 and was off for 2 weeks vacation/holiday days so back 1/3 (planned it that way since I was going to be off end of year) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Sandee29 113 Posted January 5, 2017 I was told that if I had a desk job, I could go back to work within a week. If you do more physical work, they stress "no lifting" so they told me to take 4 weeks off. I feel totally fine and did so 2 days after surgery so it's weird not going back. I work with autistic kids and some of them require physical assistance when they walk in the halls. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Kimkim 18 Posted January 5, 2017 I like having the 4 weeks because it really allows me to get into my workout and plan everything out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
bckstx22 2 Posted January 5, 2017 I'm going back tomorrow after 2 & 1/2 weeks off and feel like I'm ready. My main concerns are fatigue and taking frequent breaks to drink and eat throughout the day. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Kaylamh 144 Posted January 5, 2017 I took 10 days. I work in retail, so being on my feet for 7 hours wasn't fun, but it wasn't awful either.
Erissel 12 Posted January 5, 2017 I had a week and a half off, then I worked from home another week and a half. Just got back to work this week. I feel OK now, but I definitely wouldn't have been up for it when my vacation ran out. I was glad to be able to work from home the extra time.
