Hi. I'm 2 weeks past surgery and just about to start the soft foods phase. I've noticed that a sense of hunger has come back recently. Obviously, I'm not trying to fill it with anything other than the full liquids, shakes, etc that have been recommended, but I'm better surprised to feel such a sense of hunger so quickly. Is this truly hunger or something else? Is there a way to make it go away and still stay on track?

I have the same question, although I've been getting it since day 1... Is it hunger or something else and why the heck can't I tell what my body is feeling?

So, from what I've been told, it's not really hunger, it's gas. I experienced it too, and I was super confused haha.

But it's also possible that you could be experiencing hunger if you aren't getting in your Protein.

Thanks. I'll ask my PCP tomorrow. I have been getting at least 60 grams of Protein a day, but I've been spending almost normal levels of energy the last few days, so I wonder if I need to up it.

Thanks, I'm trying to get more Protein in, and hoping that this isn't the way it will stay, I don't want to feel hungry! Btw, Jason Tatum, I didn't mean to hijack your post!

Follow your diet ! I just hit 4 weeks and am starving but when I eat I throw up. Applesauce is the only thing I can get down. .I can smell again and want to eat but my body says NO.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
