Looking for a buddies

Recommended Posts

I am in my pre-op diet right now. And my surgery is scheduled for Jan 16th. I am in North Florda. Is there anyone who would like to be buddies and keep in touch?

I have a great support system ,but still have been struggling. The closer I get the more nervous and anxious I get. I have a bad problem of second guessing myself.

Been taking it one day at at time. It's a little hard with having to work nights. I've had to switch everything around. :/

I would love to join your buddy list. Don't worry about second guessing.

I had my surgery on the 17th of Dec, 2016 and even on the OT table while waiting for the doctor I was not too sure if I wanted to go ahead with the surgery or just get up and run away. I guess we all go through that because this is a lifestyle altering decision. The two top players that play with your mind are worry and anxiety. Don't let fear in. Keeping telling yourself why you are doing this surgery. Be strong!

I pray to God that he gives you lots and lots of strength before, during and after the surgery. All the very best :).

Thank you! My husband is usually the more positive of the two of us. Lol He keeps me from getting to negative. I appreciate any and all prayers. Do you have a FB or snapchat we can keep in touch. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
