I was not allowed to have all the stuff lamourspr99 could have. I was only allowed blended cream Soups and so I got Cream of chicken and Cream of mushroom and also broccoli cheddar Soup put a can in my blender with 3/4 cup of skim milk and then poured it into 1/2 cup bowls. One can will make about 3 bowls.

I start purée today too. So excited. I have on hand retried Beans, canned white chicken chili and lentils. I'll purée and add broth to thin these. As soon as I can get to store I'll be getting avocado, and I want to make a ricotta, puréed turkey Italian sausage and marinara bake. I'm also going to make a broccoli cheddar Soup. All these things are allowed by my dr and nut. I'm pretty excited

I use a ninja. I purée pretty much anything as long as it is moist. A lot of people purée chili, chicken salad, Beans etc.

Do you guys use spice? Like spicy hummus? During liquid could you have pepper?

My NUT always tells me to use the spice cabinet to its fullest. Just be careful of seeds/peels because you don't want them stuck in your staple line.

I lived on spicy hummus, refried Beans, etc in my purée stage

I made regular food and just puréed it in my magic bullet. Things cooked in a slow cooker are great to puree because they are very soft. Make sure you purée the meat with enough sauce/broth. I also ate refrigerator Beans with some shredded cheese, egg salad puréed up, and Greek yogurt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
