yami17leth 62 Posted January 4, 2017 I am 8 months post up. 2 days ago i got a left upper abdominal pain really bad. I couldn't even drink anything. Once each sip of liquid touched my stomach it hurt like craZy. Yesterday I went to the ER due to the pain not going away after a day and worsening as time went by. Had a CT scan and was found to have and internal hernia for which had emergency operation. Laparoscopic operation with reopening 3 old incisions and 3 new ones. Any advice and/or could anyone who has gone through this tell your story. I was put back on stage 3 diet Please if you read this talk to me about the topic. rte837 141 Posted January 5, 2017 I had to have an internal hernia repair the day after my RNY. Since then, I've suffered pain from other hernias and this past year, I was rushed into surgery for a strangulated hernia. The pain was unbelievable and came on so sudden. My belly blew up like a balloon, I couldn't stop vomiting and within 2 hours of onsent, I was under the knife. Very serious. 5 hours in surgery until it resolved. Dr. gave me that advantage instead of doing a colostomy. I agree with Martha; still worth it and I'd do it again without hesitation.
