rnsamantha 352 Posted January 4, 2017 I'm 1.5 years post op and up 15 lbs. I just started the 5 day pouch reset. Protein Shakes and Clear Liquids for me, then going back to logging all my food in mfp
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted January 4, 2017 I log everything on MyFitnessPal. Focus on lean, unprocessed meat and green veggies. I keep my meals about 5 oz total (3 oz meat + 2 oz green veggies). This works really well for me -- much more satisfying and IMO healthier than doing something like all liquids. Good luck!
Nikki B 4 Posted January 4, 2017 What are you doing for Snacks and are you eating every 2 hours? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted January 4, 2017 @@nikki b I eat lean meat and green veggies for Snacks as well as meals. I do eat every 2-3 hours. Sometimes I get hungry in between meals and snacks but I just remind myself that while hunger isn't fun, I am not going to starve to death and I can push through for another hour or so. Just because I am hungry does not mean I have to eat.
livvsmum 2,369 Posted January 4, 2017 I am 3 years post op and after becoming seriously anemic I was kind of just in survival mode and gained back 20 pounds. I was able to pull it together and so far have lost 15 of the 20 I regained. I have to tell you though, those 15 pounds were way harder to lose than the first 140 pounds. For me it was more of a head thing and getting myself back in the right mind set. I went back to basics. The "resets" will work if you want to lose a few pounds quickly, but it never really "stuck". For me the big change was just getting it in my head that I was in control. What I've been doing to lose the 15 pounds regained was getting back to the basics of the bariatric diet. I do 80g Protein, no more than 40g carbs, and as much Water as I possibly can. It's no fun, but it gets the results!
