shmee_shmee 1 Posted January 4, 2017 What do they ask or say in this part ? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Justweight 33 Posted January 4, 2017 It's pretty basic and standard. Just completed mine on the 30th and it went well. They just want to make sure you know the risk of surgery and that you understand that it's a tool to weight loss. If you have an signs of depression or anxiety they will deny you. She told me that. You should be fine Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

betty3407 17 Posted January 4, 2017 Anxiety in life, risk for alcoholism and risk of anorexia, there will not be comfort in food anymore so they need to check that you are otherwise comforted. Sent from my SM-G550T using the BariatricPal App

NOVAMOM348 20 Posted January 4, 2017 I feel like I do, too but, not extreme and food isn't my comfort for that. Maybe I just won't mention it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KWeilbrenner09 88 Posted January 4, 2017 I have anxiety and told mine that it was well controlled with medicine and therapy. I talked with them about how I planned to deal with the emotional side of things post surgery. I was approved. The point is to have a plan in place instead of just entering into the surgery blindly Katy W- Louisburg, NC Lapband revision to VSG with DS HW- 297 Weight at Surgery-279 CW- will update at two week appt

MichaelaRae 9 Posted January 4, 2017 I'm in the same boat with depression and anxiety, but I have had a good handle on it for years now. Unfortunately the psychologist I was scheduled to see was fixed on that in a way that made me feel like that's all he cared about, and not in a good way. He had me take this 300+ question test, and only talked with me individually for five minutes when the consultation is supposed to be an hour. Luckily he approved me, but I didn't click with this person and felt like he made a decision based on the questionnaire and not our one on one. Better luck to you and your psychologist!
