PB42 34 Posted January 3, 2017 Now that it is getting really cold, I want Soup. Specifically, my mom's vegetable beef Soup. It is low fat and has a decent calorie-Protein ratio. Does this count as a liquid? I am not supposed to drink 30 minutes before and after a meal, so how does soup fit in that? Thanks of any advice and views. Oh, and I am 3 months out, feeling great and losing at a very nice pace. Happy with the world. PB
Sai 785 Posted January 3, 2017 I have Soup all the time. I count the clear soup as part of my liquids. I asked my surgeon about the drinking rule, and she said that soup is allowed and not to worry about it, unless it causes me nausea (which it doesn't). Every program is different but mine encourages healthy Soups.
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted January 3, 2017 My program doesn't allow Soup unless you drain the broth, drink the broth, then eat the remaining chunks of meat, veggies, whatever. As you can see, programs vary -- you may want to check in with yours to get their guidance.
suzzzzz 1,005 Posted January 3, 2017 I treat Soup as a meal now, especially not being a clear broth.< /p>
