I am 3 1/2 years post-op RNY gastric bypass surgery. The reason why I went with RNY instead of sleeve was because I had severe acid reflux (Gerd). A sleeve will only make that condition worse.

But the bypass is not forever, how you tono to manage the eating once you don't have it anymore? ????❤️

After surgery, my stomach was smaller than the size of my fist. If I eat more than that amount of food, I will get sick. My stomach is in charge.

Angelica - the bypass is absolutely forever - certainly your pouch can get bigger over time. Part of the WLS journey is learning new and better eating habits. If you have any WLS and continue eating high carb/high fat/high sugar foods, what's the point of having surgery?

You're right, I was making a confusion between the bypass and the balloon

I know that there's no point on eating same things but since food is often something Garda for me I was wonder how to deal with it

I heard and met people who had the bypass and after lose all the weight and the time was up they gained again all the weight!

The people you've heard about and have met regained weight because they chose to eat poorly. They chose to eat the foods and the amounts of food that cause weight-gain. It is possible to gain weight after any of the surgery options. Maintaining weight loss requires changed eating habits forever. There is no magic about it.

Reading here I understood that I was wrong about the bypass, I was making a confusion with the balloon

Since the balloon must be removed people after start eating because they keep their nutrition issues hidden and after the removal everything was back

@@Angelica Marti, if a person has any bad relationship with food, sweets, caffeine, etc, they have to deal with that before they have surgery. There are a lot of resources online and therapy for people who have eating disorders, binge eating disorders, sweet eaters, and behavior therapy that can help. Gherlin is still there, so, it's totally mental before and after surgery to make the right choices. Only a tool, not a miracle...

I'm battling this daily even now and I haven't had surgery yet. :-(
