Hi my names Jennifer, I'm 18, a type 1 diabetic and I had my surgery on 5/18/16. I've lost 65 lbs. and I haven't lost anymore weight in the past few months.

I'm only able to eat about 8 ounces at a time like I'm supposed to but my weight goes up and down every day. I am a college student and "healthy eating" isn't always the easiest thing. It just bums me out how my scale will tell me I'm heavier than I was the day before. I aIso get hungrier faster after Snacks or meals throughout the day and was just curious if this happens to anybody else. I'm really new to the app and would just like any advice I can get. Thanks!

Congratulations on the 65lbs you have lost. Sounds like you are at a plateau, need to change what you are eating. Eat more Protein and less carbs. Try and weigh yourself once a week since your weight does fluctuate daily, so you don't get frustrated. Maybe you can look up some Protein Snacks like hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, etc they will keep you fuller longer. I am sure this group could give some ideas for healthy choices for a college student always on the run. Not sure how active meaning exercise, but might need to do a little more. Definitely check in with your nutritionist.

Some thing things that work well for me for high protien Snacks on the go are the P3 packed snacks that have nuts cheeese and meat or I will grab a lunchable and ditch the treat and the crackers and just eat the meat, I also will pack celery stuffed with Peanut Butter so I get the crunch and am froced to chew and satiate the brain. Make sure that you are getting your 64 oz of Water and staying hydrated. Are you on an acid reducer? Somtimes ,like dehydrationm acid reflux presents as hunger, Another thin you can do is increase your excercise as well; shake up your routine add something new. I hope this helps. Good luck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
