myfanwymoi 102 Posted December 31, 2016 I've been told to eat two to three tablespoons of food each meal and just began puréed food today. My problem is, I've just realised my tablespoon is a 30ml measure not 15 so I've eaten 80-90 ml of food rather than 45 both main meals today. I ate slowly to my dietician's 20:20:20:20 rule - bite size of 20p piece, 20 seconds chewing, 20 seconds resting and 20 mins minimum for the whole meal. And the portion lasted 20 mins. I don't feel full - or hungry so I'm worrying a) my pouch is stretched already or it will be - but it seems such a small amount of food I can't imagine halving it! Anyone got any ideas or advice? I'll scoot the portions down tomorrow - and find a proper measure but I'm fretting meantime Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Alexis99 67 Posted December 31, 2016 Hmm...We are allowed 1/4-1/2 cup as tolerated. So u think you will be just fine. Every surgeon is different. Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

myfanwymoi 102 Posted December 31, 2016 My portion fits into a freezer thing I got that holds portions for six month old babies - well the meat and veg puréed together. The compartments are 60ml each so I figure must be close to ok. How many MLS in half a cup? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
bleonhardt 46 Posted December 31, 2016 You are fine! It takes a long time of bad eating habits to stretch your pouch and you sound like you are doing just fine! Remember if you had the sleeve it is the size of a small banana and can hold what you ate...I am 3 weeks out and struggling with no hunger and getting food in so I congratulate you!! If you over eat believe me your pouch will be telling you! Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App
myfanwymoi 102 Posted December 31, 2016 Thanks - I had the bypass and am told tummy is size of egg cup - my portion is definitely bigger than that! I've looked on line though and seen a huge variety in what different surgeons allow so I'll try not to fret. Had 600 calories today which feels like loads! (Though not sure whether I calculated my 60ml of minced chili correctly! Definitely harder to get Proteins in now am eating puréed!!
