True Results

Recommended Posts

So I went thru true results to have made lapband done. I'm only 2 months post op and received an email that they are permanently closing but my surgeon will still be seeing me. I'm just nervous I won't be able to afford it. They offices are closed for the holidays but as soon as they reopen I'm calling to find out so I know what to expect and making one last fill appointment with True results before they shit their doors. Just irritated that this is happening. Hoping for the best

I'm not sure whether it's an individual surgeon's or the facility's insurance affiliations that matter, but I'd think the surgeon was/is still affiliated with your plan. If, however, it turns out that your follow-up care won't be covered by our plan, talk to the surgeon about setting an affordable fee for you. It's his/her fee, therefore, he/she can change it any time. From what I've seen, lots of articles recommend that patients speak to their doctors about this regardless of the field of medicine.

I was cash pay when I got the surgery. I don't have insurance. So that's why I'm nervous but I hope with my surgeon's care it will all work out

I got the same email B_B. I'm not happy about TR closing their doors as I picked their office due to close proximity to my office, less missed work. But can't do much about the office closing, but I'm glad I'll still have same surgeon looking after me. I too don't know what they will charge for office visits, however, if more than reasonable, I'll be talking to surgeon about it. Who is your surgeon B_B?

What about checking with local hospitals to see if they have any bariatric surgery care? They may be able to do your fills or guide you to a source.

I had good luck finding another dr closer to my home years ago. A good bariatric dr can access ports fairly easily. Also self pay, so it does add up... I can go back for 3 weeks for free after an adjustment ... in case it's too loose or tight. Good luck

@@cz.99 Dr. Steven Thomas is my dr. So my first visits after surgery for 90 days are free. After February it will cost me. I have no idea how much though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
