KathyLynn160 27 Posted February 12, 2017 I am drinking decaf..my surgical team said no caffeine for three months post op. I have found some great Decaf Beans I grind and it's taste is very close to caffeinated and so delicious, I may never go back to caffeinated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal AppWhat are you using? I'm trying to find something that will taste good with my keurig. I've have zero luck so far. I miss my coffee. G386 11 Posted February 13, 2017 I love coffee and have about 5 cups a day. I put my Protein Powder in it. I would rather coffee than food.
Loribelle73 19 Posted February 13, 2017 I had to switch to Decaf for my pre-op diet, but it is a clear liquid if you drink it black. I was surprised to find that they are going to allow me decaf after surgery as well. I was afraid I would have to stop it altogether. They said decaf for at least 6 weeks post op. I guess it will be up to my dietician after that.
blackbenzjeep@yahoo.com 20 Posted February 15, 2017 I drink 1 cup a day no issues Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
NWJill 119 Posted February 15, 2017 I was told no caffeine two weeks pre-op and at one week post op I was cleared to have it again. Although I admit, I don't crave it as much and rarely drink a full cup in a day
cejiogu 182 Posted February 15, 2017 I drink caffeine water! Yes they have it and you get the kick and it doesn't upset your stomach! It's called Avitae Water. You can get it from their web site Amazon or lots of stores across the country. GoAvitae.com I love it and I was a Diet Coke junky!Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Lucky2Lose 184 Posted February 15, 2017 What are you using? I'm trying to find something that will taste good with my keurig. I've have zero luck so far. I miss my coffee. I'm buying it at Fresh Thyme Market..really tasty Decaf. They have a few different decaf blends.
rubia72 200 Posted February 15, 2017 I had to drink coffee soon after surgery in order to survive and get through the work day.
debp1953 35 Posted February 15, 2017 I'm 16 months post-op and everything makes my stomach a bit upset. If I drink Water I get a little burp up going on. It's worth it though, but I still drink regular coffee and wine.
Cindi_Augustine 102 Posted February 17, 2017 I'm a coffee addict. I was told that caffeine in large quantities can be dehydrating but in moderate amounts is fine. In order to balance things out I just don't count my coffee as part of my liquid goals, although I was told it does count - in moderation.
Lucky13inBR 6 Posted February 20, 2017 What's "moderation" when it comes to coffee? Right now I'd be happy with being able to have a cup but figured I'd definitely wait at least 2weeks.
