kmeys0130 10 Posted December 30, 2016 I have to do 7 appts pre-op with the surgeon. So far I've seen Cardio 3 times, Pulmonology twice, had 2 sleep studies (with and without cpap), and will see my endocrinologist once, will have my endoscopy along with nut and psych on 01/27. I'll also see my primary once more before we submit to insurance in February. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So this helped the surgeon a lot. And if you have IG, follow me at thenewdanni_rny Loving Me

highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted December 30, 2016 Once. I went to Mexico! So much easier than dealing with all of the doctor issues and insurance issues. The real bonus? I got to choose my surgeon instead of my "network" choosing.

creatingthenewme 91 Posted December 31, 2016 It really depends on your insurance and also the clinic that you are having surgery with. I had monthly primary care doctor visits and nutritionist visits for three months. I also saw the surgeon twice during that time. I had an additional surgeon visit and nutritionist visit the week before surgery. In the past 5 weeks since surgery I have seen the surgeon twice and the nutritionist twice. I had to sign a contract with them that I will see them each every three months for the next year and annually after that. Lots of visits!
terri8158 0 Posted December 31, 2016 My insurance doesn't pay under any circumstances. Will I have the same requirements? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Aggiemae 739 Posted January 3, 2017 If you go to a certified weight level as center you will be given the same quality of care as any other patient. There are plenty of surgery mills that will happily do major surgery and send you on your way, hopefully you would get a sheet of diet instructions on your way out the door.
