atzvsg 20 Posted December 30, 2016 I was sleeved 10/27. I had my period 2 weeks in November and then in December I've had it for almost the whole month. Has anyone experienced this. I've lost a total of 40 pounds. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

hollyem 1 Posted December 30, 2016 I've heard from several people in my support group that this is common. Check with your surgeon/OB if it continues or starts worrying you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
melrey521 5 Posted December 30, 2016 Not only did this happen to me but the pain from it has been horrible. I had ablation years ago so I didn't have a period for over 8 years and now this. gigiinDC 70 Posted December 30, 2016 I was also sleeved 10/27. I've had a different menstrual issue--- suuuuper heavy flow. Doesn't last longer than normal but it's like a flood down there. I'm told that is normal too. Our hormones are changing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Aggiemae 739 Posted December 30, 2016 Sometimes even post menopausal woman have bleeding after abdominal surgery. I had hot flashes so bad the Dr put me back on hormones. So many hormones are stored in fat get released as women who've had WLS lose so much weight so quickly. Unless you want be pregnant be sure to use birth control. Ovulation is another consequence of rapid weight loss.
