Well, I'm 3 days in and am kind of starting to feel human again. Also learning the value of those tiny sips everyone talks about! Not sure I completely got it until it was my turn!

I was banded on 10/12/16. The first three weeks I felt tired and out of sorts. I didn't have regrets, but was feeling the pain of the changes.

Be patient and kind to yourself. I'm now losing 10 pounds a month without exercise and with snacking due to three holidays and numerous gatherings. I'm sure as I start exercising I will see an increase in my weekly weighloss, and thankfully the holidays are over.

With all of us a successful 2017.

Hello,

I need help please. I had my lap band surgery in 23 November 2016. My band is 9 CC filled so far. Before I did the surgery my weight was 82 kg (180.77 pounds) and my height is 174 cm (5.7). We are now in Mid February and my weight is only 78 kg (171 pounds). I am feeling like I am not loosing weight. Is there any problem? I am starting to regret that I did the operation from the first place. I am so frustrated and sad. Can someone please help me. Thanks!

I was banded in October and I'm losing 10 pounds a month. I do weigh more than you. I count calories and track my food. I eat high Protein and low carb. Example Greek FF yogurt, 1 Splenda sweetener, some blueberries for Breakfast. lunch and dinner chili or Soup or salad with Protein and a veggie. I stay around 1000 calories a day. Sometimes I go to 1300, but that is special occasion. I still struggle to exercise consistently. I'm happy with my band.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
