No protein choice

Recommended Posts

I know that taking Protein and in a high dose is very important and crucial to the first few months of a weight loss process but, how long until we reduce that 90g a day limit??

I am 5'2 and I have lost lots of weight, should I still be consuming 90 grams of protein every day??

Has anyone else dropped that idea down the line or is this going to be a permanent thing??

It's vital the first movie nth as you need Protein to heal the large incision in your stomach.

My minimum Protein intake was reduced to 80mg at my 3 week check and decreases further as I lose weight till I get to 60mg.

But because I limit my carbs to under 25mg a day and I have to eat something right now i have between 90-110 mg of protein a day. I don't monitor my fat intake at all and sometimes add fat (usually olive oil, avocados or nuts and once in a while butter or heavy cream) to my meals. I get 40 of the protein grams from adding unflavored Protein powder to my meals.

You should ask your NUT, but my plan never goes below 60 grams a day. An ounce of solid food is about 10 grams.

@@Lema

60 to 100 grams

It's hard in the first few months to hit Protein goals. Your not able to get many calories in at this point. You will be able to eat more food as your progress from surgery. Hitting your Protein goals gets easier.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
