I had my gastric sleeve op on the 12 of August and I have lost 70 lbs which is 5 stone already this is so over whelming for me

I can understand the overwhelmed feeling. I've been obese my entire life. The last time i was this weight i was in Jr high. Mind you i was about 2 to 3 inches shorter and 210lbs (im 5'2). So yeah. To think I'll be under 200 for the first time since high-school and get even smaller is a bit crazy to me. I even find myself self sabotaging because the idea that I'm going to look like a different person is so scary.

I've never been good with change. It takes me so long to adjust to anything. My family keeps telling my how much weight ive lost and how small im getting and its a lot to take in. Im not used to a lot of attention so it's hard to accept. It's just something we will have to take a day at a time. Im trying to get into the habit of taking pictures so i can see the changes. Im also going to talk to a professional. It's hard making changes but over time I'm sure it'll get easier dealing with it all. Sorry for the story. Just wanted you to know you're not alone. ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
