Addicted to My 600 pound life.

Recommended Posts

I have become addicted to My 600 Pound Life. I know that I was never that big but I compare my experience with RNY surgery to what they are going through. I know everyone's experience is different but I don't get some of these people.

I love that show, I would even say obsessed! I felt that it was good preparation for my surgery, especially watching them perform the surgeries. I too was nowhere near the 600lb limit, but it became inspirational to me to see their progress for the full year.

There's a TV show about fat people?

It's on TLC, new season begins January 4th!

Thank you! I will have to check it out. I don't watch TV, and have not for years. Mrs. LittleBill had to tell me there was something wrong with the cable the other day. If it was up to me, there is no telling how long it would have gone on. But give me a good movie...

I find this show so frustrating! The enabling spouses and families (especially feeder husbands!), the lack of rule following by the patients, Dr. Naz's lack of personality...

I enjoy "Fat Doctor" much more. It's about people more like us who aren't so super morbidly obese. The doctor on the show is a sweetheart, and I feel much more empathetic than Dr Now. It's a UK show and you can catch episodes on YouTube.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
