Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted December 28, 2016 It's that time of year again. New year's resolutions! Take a pill and lose weight. If you're not satisfied we will send your money back. Buy this workout machine. I'm sure talk shows will be on the bandwagon with this year's fad diets. All the bad information on weight loss drives me crazy. Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted December 28, 2016 @ @@theantichick I get my trashy magazine fix, reading the tabloid headlines at the grocery store register. OMG, Lose seven pounds overnight while you sleep.
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) Once upon a time, not really all that long, long ago, commercials for such products were on in the middle of the night. Now they're prime-time. TV is scratching in the dirt in Desperation Gulch. Edited December 28, 2016 by WLSResources/ClothingExch
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted December 28, 2016 @@WLSResources/ClothingExch I may be a tad sensitive about targeting people that are trying anything to get their weight off. All about companies making money right?
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted December 28, 2016 @@jenn1, there's nothing wrong with making money, but, as you say, it matters how it's done. The pills are unethical. I think the board thing is, too. My knowledge of the workings of exercise has limits and I may be wrong, but wouldn't dancing the twist do the same? Or pulling one's hula hoop out of mothballs? At the very least, a new hula hoop would cost far less than the board.
Healthy_life2 8,324 Posted December 28, 2016 @@WLSResources/ClothingExch I know. $39.99 for plastic. The fun and easy way to engage your core. Dang! I've been at the gym working on my abdominals for a year and a half. I wish it was that easy.

Fredbear 397 Posted December 29, 2016 The worst part of the new year is all the short-termers who fill up the gym and spend more time on their phones than working out.
Andell 53 Posted December 29, 2016 The worst part of the new year is all the short-termers who fill up the gym and spend more time on their phones than working out.. The best part is I'm hoping everyone thinks I'm apart of the New year losers, only 2 people IRL know I had surgery. Malin 470 Posted December 29, 2016 AND..the Nutrisystem ads. UGH. Those things got enough sodium to choke a donkey. They do teach Portion Control at least. But every darn commercial break....yes, it's time for those resolutions! I don't know about you all, but I get a bit 'uppity' about those commercials. I'm like '5 pounds in a Fast Start? That's so cute!' A little smug knowing what I am doing ACTUALLY WORKS.
highfunctioningfatman 2,675 Posted December 30, 2016 I have one of those "plastic Rubbermaid" boards. I have to say that I definitely feel it after using it. Will it give ripped 6 pack abs? I doubt it. Does it give the lazy people who actually use it a fighting chance? I would say yes.
