BrynnIrene 0 Posted December 27, 2016 My surgery is in 2 days, I'm very nervous. Maybe things won't work or there could be complications. I was wondering if anyone had any ways to calm your anxiety from the bad thoughts of the surgery so I can focus more on the good! It would help a lot, thanks. Mei 32 Posted December 27, 2016 Surgery tomorrow at 530am - anxious and trying to stay on clear liquid only diet for today. I don't know if this will help, but I'm just going to lay in bed all day, watching tv. If you're into video games - that might help too. Good luck! maebme 17 Posted December 27, 2016 Get lost in music or books. Or find a catalog and pick out all the clothes you want to buy when you can fit into them. Sent from my Nexus 7 using the BariatricPal App
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) Complete your preparations for going to the hospital slowly over the two days; draw things out so that you're occupied most of the time over time. On the morning of your surgery, change the sheets before you leave the house as your last, official activity. It's another of the mentally non-taxing tasks to keep your mind occupied and you'll arrive home to a fresh bed. Also remember that nervousness is a sign of nervousness and nothing else. In other words, let it be. If all that fails, drugs. (P.S. Stretching out the last, little tasks also should remind you that your taking care of what needs taking care of. You're capable and in charge.) Edited December 27, 2016 by WLSResources/ClothingExch
