I sometimes don't see a change

Recommended Posts

Then there are days like today. The photo on the left showed up in my news feed on Facebook. I am only 5 months out from sleeve surgery and down 80 lbs. I had dropped 40 on my own over 4 years by just working out and eating better.

HW - 360ish

SW - 323

CW - 242

Feels good. I have about 25 lbs to get to my goal and I know I'll do it as I have always enjoyed working out. The holidays and sweets are a battle for me. I am lighter now than when I graduated high school. This journey is amazing and I know it's not over for me. I'm training to do a sprint triathalon in June. This just there's me for a loop today.

I am nearly 2 months out and 77 lbs down from my highest in July of 404. I still cannot tell the slightest difference at all even though everyone around me can.

that is our heads messing with us. I joke with my husband that I've always had body dysmorphia at my high weights. I see myself 50lbs thinner in the mirror because i was always so shocked to see myself in photos. I'm glad I had before photos because I'm so dissapointed in how I look in pictures now. but when i compare the two...big difference. Thank goodness for pictures!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
