laurak814 43 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) I got a call from my Patient Advocate at the hospital where I will be having my surgery. She has set up all of my pre-op appointments necessary for the next several months The only one I need to make is with my counselor for the Psych Evaluation. I've already talked with my Primary Dr & he will write the Reference letter & I had my blood work done last week. So this means I could potentially have the procedure done at the end of March or middle of April if I can save up my out of pocket portion by that time. That is going to be difficult. Plus it is the beginning of a very busy time of year for our family. My husband is the Head Track Coach for our High School so he won't be able to take time off school or miss practice to help me. And our oldest son is in Jr. High Track so I'm the one who goes to his meets & gets him from practice b/c dad is busy with the high school practice or meets. I originally planned to put surgery off until summer when our schedule was less hectic & I'd have more time to save the $$$. But I'm getting anxious for my chance at the surgery. What do you all think I should do? Surgery in Spring or Summer? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited December 27, 2016 by laurak814
Montana Gal 448 Posted December 27, 2016 If it were my decision, I would have it done in the spring. I had my surgery in February, and was glad I could get some weight off by spring and good weather. Sounds like a busy time in your house, maybe you could ask a friend to take your son to a couple of meets during your first post op week. I didn't have any help when I got home from the hospital and did fine, but I also don't have children. Best of luck with your decision, you will do great!
