suzzzzz 1,005 Posted December 27, 2016 You need to ask your doctor.I was still on liquids then. Don't progress your diet before your surgeon gives you the go abead. Your stomach is raw, swollen and needs to heal without having to work to digest food. Not worth the risk of a leak infection or death.
mzjonz75 6 Posted December 27, 2016 Don't do it. My hospital did a research study of post op bariatric patients and found that egg have a Protein that can cause digestive complications in some patients if introduced before 4 weeks. newmein2017 16 Posted December 27, 2016 My doctor said I could try egg on day 10 and then if that was ok I could also try fish. Day 6 may be too soon. I'm at day 8 now can't wait for day 10.
adriant 109 Posted December 27, 2016 I wouldn't!! Scrambled eggs they tell you to stay away from as they are hard to digest, if you think you are ready for soft foods and you want eggs do poached first and they try fried, best of luck. auntberber 32 Posted December 29, 2016 Adriant, I've never heard that scrambled eggs are hard to digest...seems strange that poached eggs would be different...ingredients are the same right? My post-op diet has been in stages, with stage 1 being liquids in the hospital. Started stage 2 puréed food the day I left the hospital, my surgeon moved me to stage 3 soft foods at my 2 week post-op appointment. I was permitted egg substitute at the puréed food stage, and now can have them any way I want them. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Frenchie1977 262 Posted December 29, 2016 I was put on soft foods at week 2, they told me to avoid hard boiled eggs for now. My first soft food was a scrambled egg and it went fine.
