I was sleeved on Dec 5. Lost 24.7 pounds but now, 22 days in have stalled. I am trying not to feel discouraged but I think I got spoiled watching the weight fall off. I am just moving into soft food stage.

How long do these stalls usually last? Anything to do to keep the weight dropping? Please share your experiences. Makes me feel better. Tia. ????

Your body is healing and adjusting. You do your part by sticking to plan and meeting Protein and Water goals. The weight will come off over time. My first stall lasted 2 weeks.

I was the seventh and just about to post this exact same thing - I had lost 14 pounds at two weeks post op ( I started at 223 so the slower loss is expected ) and haven't lost a single pound from week two to week three. I've heard of the three week stall but I too was so used to watching the scale go down - I'm still on purée and was on liquids for two weeks- all I've had so far in the purée stage is cream of chicken and mashed potatoes one time and an egg one time ( I couldn't even finish half the egg) so I haven't "cheated" per say - this sure is annoying to say the least- I was hopeful to see a one on the scale for the new year and at this rate I'll be lucky to even loose a pound :/

I was sleeved 11/29 and I hit my first stall two weeks ago at two weeks post-op. I know it's normal. I know my body is fighting what is happening. I know it is medically impossible for me not to lose more... But this stall is driving me mad. I think the fact that it is around the holidays that I began my journey and I am still struggling a little mentally definitely contributes to my current 'mad' state. <_< I have a follow up today so I am hoping for some amazing words of wisdom!

Use the search function and look for "Embrace the Stall." There is a lot of good posts, especially from InnerSurferGirl that might help.

I was also sleeved December 5th and I have been stalled the last few days. I read about the three week stall a lot on here and how long it lasts seems to vary from person to person. It seems perfectly normal though. My advice is to just stick to your plan and in the mean time keep track of your measurements because a lot of times even if you are not losing pounds you are still losing inches.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
