Finding a boyfriend/girlfriend on LBT?

Recommended Posts

I met my boyfriend online. It was a music site - the common interest drew us together. (just like this site would do)

We made it through a long distance relationship for awhile and then I moved the 3 hours to be with him. He is my prince charming and I couldn't be happier!!

These things do work out sometimes :eyebrows: :biggrin1:

You guys are cracking me up.. isn't this what you call Yentas?? (Sp)

Long distance is hard, when we decided to go off to college, my husband picked New Mexico and I picked Georgia. We tried the whole distance thing for a little bit, then I ended up moving to New Mexico.

My reward.. is when he finished, we got to move back to my hometown and be near my family in Alabama :)

Yentas??? ROTFL.....LAURA!! :D No, I think she is just being a normal mother, trust me...lol...mine tries to fix me up still and I am married...rotfl....tell you something?? lol...

I looked up the dictionary of Yenta, that wasn't what I was going for lol.

I guess I watch too many movies!!

My mom has never tried to hook me up with anyone, and so it's a foreign concept to me.. it's entertaining to listen to though :)

I met my husband in Europe. At the time, we were both with other people, but our relationships were a tad on the rocks. We really got along and had a spooky amount of things in common, which never happens for me. None of the daily things like favorite movies, music, etc. -- but all of the stuff that IMO makes or breaks a relationship. We called it our "right person, wrong time" moment.

I returned home and life progressed as it does. We both found ourselves single. But living 6k miles apart, what do you do? Letters, obscenely expensive phone calls, and a lot of "someday"s later my college got email, and as soon as I realized that I could email people outside of my own school, things kind of took off. Then came prehistoric tools like ytalk (please tell me someone here knows what this is)... we're talking the days where Mosaic was a hot thing, but Lynx was commonplace.

2 years after we met, I went back to visit him. During those 2 years, we commuicated online almost every day, sometimes for 10+ hours a day. About a year into it he took a job programming for a European phone company that owned their own lines so he could call me for free, that helped.

So, even though we didn't meet online, we developed online. Long before online dating was normal or even heard of. My friends all thought it was really weird. How could I have feelings for someone that I had just met? It wasn't like we were "real," we just talked online. :)

Your story about the way you and your hubby met, evolved, and fell in love is inspiring and makes me believe that there is a special someone for everyone!

LDR's are tough. I'm in the middle of one right now. But it's working and it's going to continue to work until my daughter is out of high school. The SO needs to be in a different city to care for her aging but no where close to death mother and I can't take my kid from her other parent....

She has just started Kindergarten. So I'm in for the very long haul.

Ouch! That's young. Hang in there!

The reason I moved, instead of my boyfriend, was his daughter. He wanted her to at least be in college before he leaves. She'll be 18 in Jan and this is her last year of high school :whoo:

I don't like where we live. I'm ready to start a new life/adventure somewhere else!! lol

Wheetsin - Very cool! What finally brought you two together? Someone made a huge move!

I met my husband on AOL about 10 years ago. He didnt live far away or anything but still at the time it was odd for people I guess.

The funny thing is he was sending me messages just to entertain his friends and being mean. So the next day when he started messaging me I was like whats your problem you are a jerk?

Now I am married to him :waytogo: Hes not a jerk either.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
