I had a VSG on September 1. My mother-in-law had Christmas brunch this morning. I had a cup of coffee with a small amount of vanilla Premier Protein in it on our 20 minute drive to her house. We didn't eat right away so there was at least 30 minutes between drinking coffee and eating. I ate a very small piece of quiche and a slice of ham. The ham was thick but I cut it into small pieces and chewed them (I thought) well. Usually if I eat too much or too fast I am in pain pretty quickly. Today, however, about an hour and a half after eating, I started having excruciating stomach pain that was shooting through to my back and I was nauseated. I "vomited" foam for a while. Now, almost 5 hours later I am still nauseated and in pain. I have rotated a heating pad from my stomach and back. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? I am miserable. BTW, I had my gallbladder removed 8 years ago.

I have no idea what the problem might be, but I'd recommend calling your doctor or visiting an urgent care clinic just to make sure.

Walk, walk, walk. It could have been anything, really. I had this experience randomly for about 18 months. If you can force a burp, it helps. GasX was my BFF. But really, walk. Up steps is best.

      Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
      What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
